What You Will Do

You will drive aftermarket sales growth for Johnson Controls’ HVAC portfolio across South Africa and surrounding regions, focusing on service contracts, retrofits, upgrades, and maintenance packages. Your role centers on expanding customer relationships, identifying service opportunities, and positioning Johnson Controls as the preferred partner for lifecycle HVAC support.

What you will do

  • Grow aftermarket revenue through service agreements, maintenance packages and retrofit projects.
  • Manage and expand a portfolio of end users, facility managers, contractors, and building owners
  • Identify aging equipment and propose upgrade paths, energy‑efficiency improvements, and reliability enhancements
  • Collaborate with service operations to ensure accurate scoping, quoting, and delivery
  • Maintain strong pipeline discipline, forecasting accuracy, and CRM hygiene
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to strengthen Johnson Controls’ positioning

How You Will Do It

  • You will combine technical HVAC knowledge with strong commercial acumen to uncover opportunities and convert them into long‑term customer value. You will:
  • Conduct site visits, equipment assessments, and customer consultations to identify aftermarket needs
  • Present value‑based proposals highlighting lifecycle cost savings, reliability, and performance benefits
  • Work closely with service technicians, engineering teams, and operations to ensure seamless execution
  • Build trust through consistent follow‑up, proactive communication, and customer‑focused problem solving
  • Use your understanding of chillers, airside systems, controls, and mechanical components to guide customers toward the right solutions
  • Manage your territory with strong planning, prioritization, and time management

What We Look For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or related technical field (preferred)
  • 3–5+ years of experience in HVAC aftermarket sales, service sales, or technical sales
  • Strong understanding of chillers, pumps, controls, and general HVAC service
  • Proven ability to sell service contracts, retrofits, and replacement solutions
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, equipment data, and system layouts
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills
  • Customer‑focused, results‑driven, and comfortable working independently in a field‑based role
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Sub Sahara and Africa
