Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Clinician to join our team. In this role, you will provide direct clinical services to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. You will conduct assessments, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in supporting clients through their healing and recovery journey, while maintaining a safe, inclusive, and therapeutic environment.

Duties

  • Facilitate evidence-based individual and group counseling sessions, fostering therapeutic communication, insight, and client engagement.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on diagnostic assessment and clinical best practices.
  • Conduct comprehensive diagnostic assessments and formulate appropriate diagnoses using DSM-5 and ICD-10 criteria.
  • Utilize measurement-based care to inform treatment planning and track client progress.
  • Provide timely and effective crisis intervention, ensuring client safety and emotional stabilization.
  • Maintain accurate, strengths-based, and timely clinical documentation in accordance with agency standards and ICD-10 coding requirements.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary consultations, clinical supervision (as applicable), and ongoing professional development to support quality care and clinical growth.
  • Uphold the highest ethical, legal, and professional standards in all client interactions, consistent with licensing board regulations and organizational policies.

Skills
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of the following skills:

  • Ability to facilitate effective individual and group psychotherapy using evidence-based approaches.
  • Demonstrated experience providing culturally responsive and trauma-informed care, particularly with marginalized and underserved populations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including clinical documentation and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a dynamic caseload.
  • Proficiency in delivering crisis intervention and safety planning within ethical and legal guidelines.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, continuing education, and clinical refinement in alignment with licensure requirements and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related mental health field.
  • Active licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent) or license-eligible in the state of Virginia.
  • Clinical experience working with diverse populations presenting with a range of mental health concerns, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, and trauma-related disorders.
  • Demonstrated expertise in working with individuals affected by trauma, using evidence-based, trauma-informed interventions.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills to support effective therapeutic alliances and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Proficiency in providing crisis intervention and managing high-acuity clinical situations within appropriate ethical and legal frameworks.

We offer credentialing, billing and marketing support to enable focus on clinical work, rather than administrative duties. This is a contract, remote position with flexible scheduling in the daytime, evening, or weekends, if preferred. You establish your own schedule, allowing for autonomy and independence.

Join us in making a positive impact on the lives of those we serve by providing compassionate care and support as a Licensed Clinician.
