This role works closely with senior healthcare consultants to deliver expert guidance on medical aid, health insurance, wellness programmes, Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs), and broader employee-benefit solutions. The ideal candidate will be able to translate complex healthcare information into practical, client-focused recommendations that drive business growth and improve client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Support healthcare and wellness sales opportunities through technical product expertise.
• Assist with medical aid comparisons, scheme analysis, benefit benchmarking, and solution recommendations.
• Prepare professional client presentations and proposal documents.
• Participate in client meetings and help address technical questions and objections.
• Conduct healthcare market research and monitor industry developments, including NHI-related changes.
• Support pipeline progression by assisting with documentation, analysis, and deal conversion activities.
• Contribute to wellness and EAP solution development and client engagement initiatives.
• Assist with healthcare-related tender submissions and large corporate proposals.
• Maintain accurate CRM records and support pipeline reporting.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Matric (essential).
• Relevant qualification in Healthcare, Employee Benefits, Insurance, Business, Commerce, Marketing, or a related field will be advantageous.
• 3–6 years’ experience in healthcare consulting, medical aid, health insurance, wellness, EAP, employee benefits, broker consulting, or a related financial services environment.
• Experience preparing client presentations, proposals, benefit comparisons, and market reviews.
• Corporate employee benefits experience will be advantageous.

• Ability to analyse healthcare benefits, pricing structures, provider options, and client requirements.
• Excellent presentation, proposal-writing, and communication skills.
• Strong analytical, research, and benchmarking capabilities.
• Commercial awareness with a focus on revenue growth and client value.
• Ability to simplify complex technical information for diverse audiences.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Collaborative approach with the ability to work across sales, marketing, servicing, and operations teams.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role will be measured by the quality of technical support provided to the sales team, the effectiveness of proposals and presentations, contribution to pipeline progression and deal conversion, and the growth of ASI’s healthcare, wellness, and EAP business.

The ideal candidate will enhance ASI’s technical credibility, improve the client experience, strengthen proposal quality, and help the sales team convert opportunities more effectively.
