Full job description
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor compliance with public health regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular inspections of galleys, restaurants, bars, cabins, medical facilities, pools, spas, and other public areas.
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
- Investigate outbreaks of gastrointestinal or infectious illnesses and recommend control measures.
- Conduct water quality testing and monitor recreational water facilities.
- Train crew members on hygiene, sanitation, infection prevention, and public health procedures.
- Prepare reports and maintain health inspection records.
- Liaise with ship management, medical staff, and port health authorities.
- Ensure compliance with international maritime health standards and environmental regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, Food Safety, Nursing, Microbiology, or a related field.
- Experience in public health, environmental health, food safety, infection prevention, or healthcare.
- Knowledge of food safety systems such as HACCP and sanitation standards.
- Strong analytical, communication, and reporting skills.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
- Ability to work onboard for extended contracts.
Pay: R30 000,00 - R45 000,00 per month
