Job Title: Junior Buyer

Department: Procurement / Supply Chain
Reports To: Procurement Manager / Senior Buyer
Job Level: Junior / Entry–Intermediate

Job Purpose

To support the procurement function by sourcing goods and services, placing purchase orders, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective supply of materials required for business operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Raise and process purchase orders in line with company procedures
  • Source quotations from approved suppliers
  • Compare pricing, quality, and delivery timelines
  • Follow up on outstanding orders and deliveries
  • Maintain supplier communication and relationships
  • Assist with supplier onboarding and documentation
  • Monitor stock levels and reorder requirements
  • Support cost-saving initiatives and negotiations
  • Ensure procurement records are accurately maintained
  • Assist with resolving supply or invoice discrepancies

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Diploma or Certificate in Procurement / Supply Chain (advantageous)
  • 1 year purchasing or administrative experience
  • Proficient in MS Excel
