Full job description
We are looking for a reliable, engaging online Biology tutor to teach Cambridge International O and A Level students and provide focused support for upcoming exams.
Role Summary:
Provide targeted exam preparation and teach Cambridge International Biology to O Level and A Level students via live online lessons. Prepare lessons, track student progress, set and mark assessments, and coach exam technique to maximise performance in upcoming exams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-on-one and small-group online lessons for Cambridge O Level and A Level Biology, with an emphasis on preparing students for upcoming exams.
- Create clear, structured lesson plans aligned with the Cambridge syllabus and tailored to the student’s exam timetable.
- Identify weak areas, design targeted revision plans, and run focused past-paper practice sessions under timed conditions.
- Explain biological concepts, demonstrate practical skills virtually, and use diagrams and examples to aid understanding.
- Set, mark, and provide detailed feedback on homework, quizzes, and past-paper exam practice.
- Teach exam techniques: question interpretation, time management, structuring answers, and exam-specific strategies.
- Monitor and report student progress to parents or coordinators, highlighting readiness for exams and recommended next steps.
- Maintain punctuality, professional communication, and reliable lesson records.
Requirements:
- Studied Biology at Cambridge O Level and A Level, with grade A in both (or equivalent Cambridge grading).
- Currently enrolled in university (science/biology-related degree preferred) or university graduate.
- Strong knowledge of the Cambridge International Biology syllabus and exam techniques.
- Prior tutoring or teaching experience is preferred.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Comfortable using online teaching tools (Zoom, Google Meet, digital whiteboards, screen sharing).
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet, well-lit teaching space.
