Join Our Production Team!

F2F Foods is looking for reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented General Kitchen Assistants to join our Central Production Kitchen in Kyalami. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced food production environment and take pride in producing quality products while maintaining high food safety standards, we'd love to hear from you.

As a General Kitchen Assistant, you will support our production team with food preparation, packing, labelling, storage, and despatch of products for our restaurant, airline catering, retail, banqueting, and export clients.

Key Responsibilities

Food Production

• Assist with basic food preparation, including washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning ingredients.
• Support chefs and production staff to ensure production targets are met.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic work area at all times.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and quality standards, including HACCP and company procedures.
• Assist with stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO) and general housekeeping duties.

Packing, Labelling & Storage

• Label finished products accurately with batch numbers, production dates, expiry dates, and allergen information.
• Pack and box products according to customer and product specifications.
• Store finished products correctly in chilled, frozen, or ambient storage areas.
• Ensure products are correctly sealed, labelled, and stored to maintain quality and traceability.
• Monitor storage temperatures and report any issues immediately.

Despatch

• Prepare products for daily despatch according to production schedules.
• Verify quantities and product quality before loading.
• Complete despatch documentation accurately.
• Work closely with drivers and logistics teams to ensure orders are dispatched correctly and on time.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

• Grade 10 or Grade 12 (Matric) is advantageous.

Experience

• Previous experience in a kitchen, food manufacturing, food production, warehouse, or despatch environment will be advantageous.
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene principles (training will be provided).

Skills & Competencies

• Strong attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Physically fit and able to lift and move stock where required.
• Comfortable working in chilled and freezer environments.
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills to accurately read labels, complete records, and count stock.
