Van Schalkwyk & Partners is offering an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual to join our team in Krugersdorp as a SAICA Trainee Accountant / Article Clerk.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

As a trainee, you will gain valuable practical experience and exposure to a wide range of accounting and auditing functions, working alongside experienced professionals.

Your training will include exposure to:

• External auditing
• Preparation of annual financial statements
• Accounting and bookkeeping
• Income tax and provisional tax
• VAT and other SARS-related matters
• Payroll and statutory submissions
• Financial reporting and analysis
• Compilation and review engagements
• Client communication and professional correspondence
• Working with various industries and different types of clients
• Practical application of IFRS and relevant accounting standards
• Development of professional judgement and problem-solving skills

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• BCom Accounting / equivalent SAICA-accredited qualification or in progress
• Candidates who are eligible to enter into a SAICA training contract will be considered
• Completed or progressing towards a relevant postgraduate qualification will be advantageous
• A valid driver's licence will be advantageous
• Previous accounting or auditing experience will be advantageous, but is not essential
