Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Dessert Cook to manage the preparation and presentation of desserts and sweet menu items. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality desserts while maintaining consistency, creativity, and attention to presentation standards.

The ideal candidate will be organised, adaptable, and capable of assisting in other kitchen sections when required while upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and plate desserts according to company recipes and presentation standards.
  • Produce a variety of hot and cold desserts, garnishes, sauces, and accompaniments.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.
  • Prepare ingredients and maintain sufficient mise en place for service periods.
  • Monitor stock levels of dessert ingredients and report shortages.
  • Ensure correct storage and handling of all dessert products and ingredients.
  • Assist other kitchen sections when required by operational demands.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dessert station.
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures at all times.
  • Report quality concerns, equipment faults, or stock issues to management.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in dessert preparation, pastry, baking, or a similar kitchen role.
  • Knowledge of dessert production techniques and presentation standards.
  • Understanding of ingredient handling and food safety practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
