Race Coast is seeking x3 Station Chefs who will prepare and cook for race-days and functions within the respective and dedicated stations.

Location : Greyville Racecourse

Type : Full Time

Experience : 1-2 years working in the kitchen

What You'll Do:

Quality & Presentation of Dishes

· Consistent adherence to recipes and plating guidelines.

· Dishes are presented neatly, with proper portioning and temperature.

· Regular tastings conducted during prep and service.

· Feedback from Kitchen Management and customer reviews are consistently positive.

· Ability to adapt presentation for special events (VIP boxes, gala dinners, themed race days, etc).

Operational Efficiency

· Prepared mise en place is ready before each service window.

· Swift recovery and output during peak service periods.

· Good time management across prep, cooking, and cleaning phases.

· Proactive communication with Kitchen Management and other station chefs during live service.

· Adherence to service timelines, especially for large-scale hospitality zones (boxes, suites, hospitality venues, etc.)

Hygiene & Safety Compliance

· Maintain a clean, and organized workstation at all times.

· Proper use and storage of ingredients, with clear labelling and rotation (FIFO method).

· Full compliance with health and safety standards, and company policies.

· Personal hygiene and uniform standards maintained.

· Full participation in kitchen deep-clean routines and safety drills

Stock & Wastage Management

· Accurately report ingredient needs for the station during prep.

· Minimize wastage through proper storage and prep techniques.

· Record and report wastage with reasons to help reduce reoccurrence.

· Collaborate with Kitchen Management to maintain par stock levels.

Teamwork & Communication

· Communicate prep and service issues clearly to Kitchen Management or peers.

· Support other stations during peak periods or shortages.

· Participate in pre-shift briefings and post-shift reviews.

· Maintain a positive, respectful, and solution-oriented attitude in the kitchen.

· Help integrate and guide new, junior and temporary staff, to maintain a high standard.

Customer Satisfaction Contribution

· Understand guest profiles and preferences for different service areas (e.g., executive boxes vs. restaurant).

· Ensure dietary and allergen-specific meals are handled with care.

· Execute last-minute menu changes or custom requests with efficiency.

· Support Kitchen Management’s vision for menu execution on race days and during private functions.

· Be aware of guest feedback and contribute to continuous improvement.

What You’ll Need:

· Two years culinary experience

A bonus to have:

· Two-year culinary diploma

  • Service Excellence: Primary focus of one’s actions. Follows up on requests timeously to ensure that the final product or service meets expectations.
