Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
Laboratory assistant supports laboratory technician and completion of daily laboratory tasks, which include but not limited to execution of the below duties:
- Planning of daily, weekly and monthly tasks
- Stock-take and order consolidation
- Participating in PT schemes, inter and intra lab testing results
- Ensure that records are maintained and completed accurately
- Ensure all equipment is verified
- Contributing and adherence to the site safety/food safety systems and laboratory systems.
- Sampling and Testing of various sample matrices for microbiology, chemical and Packaging analysis.
- Reporting of results daily, weekly and monthly
- Raise and report of Non-conformances and problem solving
- ADHOC tasks
- Housekeeping and cleaning of area of responsibility
- Assisting Laboratory Technicians with daily tasks
- Document filing and maintenance.

Qualifications:
- Tertiary Qualification in the food science field
- Must be familiar with SANS 17025 and Good Lab Practices
- Computer basic skills (Microsoft word, excell and power point)
