St Peter's College is an independant Anglican Diocesan school for boys and girls from Grade 8 to Grade 12. The school was founded in 1998 to meet the demand for a co-educational high school in northern Sandton. St Peter's College offers and integrated and relevant South African high school eductation.

The College seeks to appoint a hard working and commited General Assistant (Cleaner) to start 1 Jauary 2027.

Role Overview:

The School Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic, safe and welcoming environment across the College. The role involves cleaning and maintaining designated areas, ensuring that hygiene standards are consistently upheld, and supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the school environment.

Minimum Requirements

• Must have a Matric Qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in housekeeping, cleaning or a similar role.
• Previous experience in a school, office, hospitality or institutional environment would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, hygiene standards and the safe handling of cleaning products.
• Ability to operate basic cleaning equipment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness
• Must have knowledge on Occupational Health and Safety.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Enthusiastic, assertive, self-driven and flexible
• Practical and logical problem-solving ability
• Ability to handle pressure
• Prepared to work outside college hours, where necessary; and
• Willingness to participate in the broader life of the College and to contribute positively to the ethos of the College.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, corridors, bathrooms and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum and dust designated areas.
• Clean windows, surfaces, furniture and other school facilities as required.
• Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
• Replenish cleaning and hygiene supplies where necessary.
• Report maintenance issues, damage or safety hazards to the relevant supervisor.
• Ensure cleaning equipment and materials are used safely and appropriately.
• Maintain cleanliness during school activities, events and functions when required.
• Follow all health, safety and hygiene procedures.
• Assist with other reasonable housekeeping duties as directed by the supervisor.

• Maintain a professional, respectful and helpful manner when interacting with staff, learners and visitors.
