About Moove
Moove is building the world’s largest fleet and best-in-class technologies that power mobility platforms. Its flagship Drive-to-Own (DTO) product democratises access to vehicle ownership with a revolutionary revenue based financing model, enabling underserved mobility entrepreneurs to thrive.
Moove’s growth has been fuelled by its global Uber partnership and support of leading investors and lenders, including Uber, Mubadala, BlackRock, MUFG, and many others. With operations now spanning 19 cities across 6 continents - Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, South America, and the Middle East - Moove continues to expand its offerings through strategic acquisitions and partnerships with industry leaders, including Waymo and Uber. Moove is transforming mobility to make it safer, more efficient and accessible to all, while providing economic opportunities and supporting skills development in the mobility sector.
About the Role
The Yard Marshal is responsible for managing the movement, compliance, and readiness of vehicles within the yard, ensuring accurate alignment with fleet systems. This role ensures all vehicles are fully compliant, roadworthy, and prepared for assignment to drivers, supporting operational efficiency and company standards.
What You’ll be Doing
Main duties and responsibilities of the role in bullet points.
Vehicle Yard & compliance coordination
- Manage and oversee the movement of vehicles in and out of the yard, including secure key and parking control.
- Ensure vehicle compliance and readiness for assignment — confirm all vehicles are licensed, roadworthy, serviced, cleaned, fuelled, and meet safety and brand standards before handover.
- Conduct readiness and compliance checks, escalating outstanding repairs, inspections, or registrations to the maintenance team for quick resolution. Report and track any delays, ensuring corrective actions are taken to avoid disruption to driver onboarding or operations.
System accuracy & reporting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all vehicle movements, locations, and readiness in CRM and fleet management systems.
- Regularly reconcile yard vehicle counts with system data to ensure alignment and transparency.
- Flag discrepancies or compliance risks immediately and ensure issues are resolved before vehicles are allocated.
- Provide feedback to operations and fleet teams on turnaround times, bottlenecks, and process gaps.
Safety & continuous improvement
- Enforce strict yard safety and security protocols, ensuring safe storage and movement of vehicles.
- Monitor vehicle conditions in the yard and escalate damage, non-compliance, or risks promptly.
- Collaborate with operations, fleet, and onboarding teams to improve yard efficiency, turnaround times, and compliance processes.
Key Metrics
Key competencies or attributes essential for success in the role.
-
2+ years’ experience in fleet, yard, or operational coordination. Strong understanding of vehicle compliance and roadworthiness requirements. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
Computer literacy (CRM/fleet systems proficiency is an advantage).
- Valid driver’s license.
Who You'll Be Working with:
Directly reporting to our City Security & Warehouse Manager and closely working with our Operations Team.
About the team
Our team is collaborative, positive, curious, and engaged. We think fast, work smart, laugh often, and are looking for like-minded people to join us in our mission to disrupt vehicle ownership and make financial freedom within reach.
Moove is strongly committed to diversity within its community. The Company’s approved Employment Equity Plan and Targets will be considered as part of the recruitment process. As an Equal Opportunities employer, we welcome people from all backgrounds who seek the opportunity to help build a future where everyone and everything can move independently.
