Full job description
To develop, lead and implement the FSCA’s strategic communications framework. The role aims to strengthen stakeholder trust, protect and enhance the FSCA’s reputation, and support the Authority’s regulatory objectives through proactive, transparent and consistent communication. The incumbent will also provide strategic communication advice to executives, manage media and reputational matters, oversee external communications, and lead crisis communication responses where required. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Communications.
Key Performance Areas:
- Developing and implementing communication plans aligned to the FSCA’s communication strategy, aligned withthe organization’s key strategic objectives.
- Overseeing executive communication, including speeches, presentations, key messages, and briefing material.
- Leading media relations, social media and reputation management initiatives.
- Positioning the FSCA as a trusted authority in the financial services sector.
- Conducting environmental scanning, trend analysis and stakeholder sentiment monitoring.
- Managing crisis communication responses and ensuring clear, timely and accurate messaging.
- Providing strategic communication advice to the Head of Department, FSCA executives and business units.
- Overseeing publications, campaigns, speeches, newsletters and thought leadership content of the FSCA.
- Leading the strategic communications team, managing resources and ensuring compliance with governanceframeworks.

A post graduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Media Studies, Marketing, Corporate Communication, or a related field. A professional accreditation with relevant communications or public relations bodies will be advantageous. A minimum of 8 – 10 years’ experience in strategic communications, public relations or corporate communications. At least 5 years’ experience in a management role. Proven experience in reputation management, crisis communication, and stakeholder engagement. Demonstrable experience in advising executives and leadership teams is essential. Relevant experience in a regulatory, public sector, financial services, or highly governed environments will be advantageous.
