About The Support Force

The Support Force partners with international businesses to provide dedicated remote professionals across technical, operational, and support functions. We are currently recruiting a 1st Line Security Operations Consultant to join a growing Security Operations team supporting customers in a managed services environment.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for cybersecurity who wants to build a long term career within Security Operations.

You will be responsible for monitoring security alerts, investigating potential threats, supporting incident response activities, and helping maintain strong security controls across multiple customer environments. You will work within established processes and playbooks while developing your technical skills and progressing towards more advanced security responsibilities.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Monitoring security alerts and events across multiple security platforms
  • Investigating and triaging potential security incidents
  • Escalating incidents in accordance with defined procedures
  • Supporting first line incident response activities
  • Maintaining accurate incident and service ticket documentation
  • Assisting with security remediation activities and control updates
  • Supporting endpoint protection and threat detection solutions
  • Working with Microsoft security technologies and security monitoring tools
  • Identifying recurring issues and potential security improvements
  • Communicating professionally with colleagues and customers

What We Are Looking For

We will expect candidates to demonstrate knowledge and experience in the following areas:

  • Security Operations Centre (SOC) processes and workflows
  • Cybersecurity fundamentals and threat detection principles
  • Microsoft Defender and endpoint security technologies
  • Common cyber threats including phishing, malware, ransomware, and brute force attacks
  • Log analysis and security event investigation
  • Incident triage and escalation procedures
  • Networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP and HTTPS
  • Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365
  • Security best practices and security frameworks
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
