Full job description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Marketing Coordinator who will report to the HOD: Marketing & Communications and to support the day-to-day operations of our marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate must be passionate about marketing and digital media, have a strong eye for detail, and enjoy using data to influence strategy and decision-making.
Key duties and responsibilities
Day-to-day marketing operations
Assist in the coordination and execution of marketing activities, ensuring smooth operations across various channels and projects.
Track and report on marketing KPIs and metrics, providing insights to senior team members to improve performance.
Manage marketing calendars, ensuring deadlines and project timelines are met.
Social media content and strategy:
Work hand in hand with the social media team to manage creative assets, schedules, and social media content calendar for all platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter and Youtube.
Brief in monthly campaign plans to the social media team and ensure all written creative captions align with the brand’s voice and engage the target audience.
Create weekly reports for all social media channels for trends, engagement, and user-generated content to incorporate into strategy.
Monitor all posts as per schedule for all platforms to ensure content is timely and relevant.
Social media analytics and reporting:
Work hand in hand with the social media analyst to track engagement, reach, and conversion rates (e.g. Google Analytics, Meta Insights, etc.).
Work hand in hand with the social media analyst to prepare and present weekly performance reports, offering insights and recommendations to optimise future content and campaigns.
Monitor competitors' social media activities and industry trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
Event management:
Assist in the planning and coordination of marketing events, including virtual events, webinars, activations, internal events and trade marketing.
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure event logistics are managed smoothly.
Help with event promotion, including the creation of event materials and post-event follow-ups to engage attendees.
Campaign execution and support:
Manage the execution of marketing campaigns across various channels, including email marketing, paid ads, and promotions
Assist with creating promotional content, including graphics, email newsletters, and internal communications material.
Ensure all campaigns are on track and deadlines are met.
Manage and develop a report for all marketing projects briefed in by the HOD: Marketing and Communications.
Collaboration and communication
Work closely with the HOD: Marketing and communications, production team and suppliers to ensure all campaigns and projects are aligned with the company’s objectives and brand guidelines efforts are integrated and cohesive.
Provide regular updates to the HOD: Marketing and communications on project status, analytics, and campaign performance
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum qualifications and experience required:
Diploma or equivalent in marketing, communications, business, or a related field
3 - 5 years of experience in marketing, social media management, event and related roles
Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation
Experience with basic marketing analytics tools (Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, MailChimp, Asana, etc.) and performance tracking.
Skills and knowledge:
Basic understanding of digital marketing, social media strategies, and SEO
Computer literacy
Understanding of administrative processes and procedures
Excellent writing and reading skills in English, Zulu and Sesotho with the ability to craft engaging and on-brand captions and social media posts
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Ability to analyse data and derive actionable insights to improve social media engagement and campaign performance
Detail orientated
Strong attention to detail and a creative mindset
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
Passion for marketing and staying up to date with social media trends
Proactive and self-motivated with a positive attitude.
