Full job description
Prepare consultation and examination rooms before each clinic session.
● Welcome and prepare patients for consultation.
● Record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturation, height and weight.
● Obtain basic patient information and medical history for the doctor's review.
● Assist doctors during examinations and minor procedures.
● Prepare and sterilise medical equipment.
● Collect and label laboratory specimens where authorised.
● Perform point-of-care tests within approved scope.
● Administer treatments or medications only when legally authorised and delegated.
● Maintain infection prevention and control standards.
● Assist with emergency response and basic life support where required.
Administrative Duties
● Register patients and update electronic medical records.
● Schedule appointments and manage patient flow.
● Answer telephone and email enquiries professionally.
● Prepare referral letters, laboratory forms and medical reports for doctor approval.
● Process medical aid information and assist with billing.
● File patient records in accordance with POPIA.
● Order and monitor medical consumables and clinic stock.
