Full job description
We are looking for an experienced, Code 14 Driver Trainer to join our team. You will be responsible for training, assessing, and mentoring professional heavy vehicle drivers to the highest standards of road safety, compliance, and operational excellence. This is a hands-on role combining in-cab instruction, classroom facilitation, and formal assessment.
- Conduct Code 14 driver training and assessments
- Deliver classroom-based and in-cab practical instruction
- Train on defensive driving and load security,
- Identify skills gaps and develop individual training plans
- Maintain accurate learner records and training documentation
- Coach drivers on fuel-efficient and eco-driving techniques
- Conduct vehicle pre-trip inspection training and checklists
- Assist with incident investigations
Requirement:
- Valid Code 14 (EC) driver's licence — minimum 5 years' experience
- SETA-accredited Assessor and/or Moderator certification
- PDP (Professional Driving Permit) — current and valid
- Dangerous Goods / ADR certificate advantageous
- Formal Driver Trainer qualification
- Strong knowledge of road traffic legislation and safety standards
- Proficient in English; additional languages an advantage
- Clean criminal record and good disciplinary history
- Computer literacy — MS Office, basic LMS/reporting tools
