The Department of Business Management, situated in the College of Business and Economics, School of Management, a Department that has a comprehensive offering at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The University of Johannesburg is actively recruiting for a Lecturer in Sustainability within the Department of Business Management.

Responsibilities:

The incumbent will be expected to:

Lecture Sustainability-related modules such as sustainability management, sustainability reporting and analytics, and sustainable finance and impact investing at under and postgraduate levels as well as other business management-related modules.
Conduct research and regularly publish in accredited academic journals.
Perform administrative duties as directed by the Head of Department or relevant Campus coordinator.
Participate in identified community outreach projects.
Supervise both Honours and Masters students.
A commitment to pursue further studies towards a PhD.

Minimum requirements

A Masters degree in Sustainability or an appropriate master’s degree (NQF 9)
At least three years' teaching experience in Sustainability at a higher education institution and/or professional experience.
An understanding and interest in contemporary sustainability challenges and the evolution of corporate responses to them - from ethics-based CSR through systemic sustainability, the SDGs, and ESG.

Previous lecturing experience in the relevant subject disciplines.
