About Us

Imvomvo Lodge is a 40-room guesthouse and conference Centre dedicated to delivering

exceptional hospitality, professional service, and a welcoming guest experience. The lodge

is committed to operational excellence, guest satisfaction, and building a strong, service-

driven team that upholds the highest standards of quality and care.

Purpose of the Role

Responsibility for ensuring that all lodge facilities are safe, functional, clean, and well-maintained. This includes performing routine inspections, repairs, preventative maintenance, and assisting with general property upkeep to provide a comfortable experience for guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect guest rooms, kitchens, bars, and public areas for defects.
  • Repair doors, windows, locks, furniture, and fixtures.
  • Maintain roofing, ceilings, walls, tiles, and paintwork.
  • Electrical Repairs & Maintenance
  • Replace and repair light bulbs, switches, sockets, plugs, and wiring.
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults and carry out minor repairs.
  • Maintain and test circuit breakers, distribution boards, and electrical panels.
  • Ensure emergency lighting and backup power systems are fully operational.
  • Report and escalate major electrical issues to qualified technicians when necessary.
  • Plumbing Maintenance
  • Repair leaking taps, toilets, showers, and pipes.
  • Clear blocked drains and maintain water systems.
  • Grounds & Outdoor Areas
  • Maintain pathways, parking areas, verandas, gardens, and outdoor facilities.
  • Assist with swimming pool maintenance.
  • Preventative Maintenance
  • Conduct scheduled inspections of electrical systems, plumbing, and equipment.
  • Keep tools and equipment in good condition.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Health & Safety
  • Follow workplace safety procedures and use PPE.
  • Ensure electrical repairs meet safety and hospitality standards.
  • Report hazards immediately.
  • Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests.
  • Carry out repairs with minimal disruption.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude.
  • Experience: Previous work in building or hospitality maintenance preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of electrical repairs, plumbing, and general handyman skills.
  • Safety Awareness: Understanding of occupational health and electrical safety practices.
  • Communication & Teamwork: Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Availability: Flexible hours, weekends, and urgent call-outs.

Advantageous to Have

  • Formal qualification in electrical repairs or wiring.
  • Ability to safely handle and troubleshoot electrical systems beyond basic repairs.
  • Ability to perform a wide range of maintenance tasks without outsourcing.
  • Competence in logging repairs, tracking inventory, and reporting issues digitally.
  • Valid license for mobility between sites or supplier runs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Customer service orientation to interact professionally with guests and staff.

Salary

Remuneration will be based on Experience

Pay: R6 500,00 - R9 000,00 per month
