Full job description
Minimum requirements
- Grade 12 with a Nursing Certificate as an Enrolled Nurse
- HIV/AIDS counselling qualification
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as an Enrolled Nurse
- At least 2 years’ HIV/ARV and phlebotomy experience
- Knowledge, understanding and experience of the treatment, care and management of HIV and STIs
- Knowledge and understanding of COVID-19 infection control and prevention guidelines
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Fluency in English and isiZulu preferable
Personal qualities and competencies
- Attention to detail, with strong analytical ability
- Ability to organise and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work independently, without direct supervision, and fit in well within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong administrative skills
Key responsibilities
- Conduct the informed consent process
- Perform clinical examinations and sample collection
- Facilitate receipt of laboratory results and transcription onto case report forms
- Administer study-specific questionnaires
- Recruit participants
- Perform HIV/AIDS counselling
- Stock control and administration
