Restaurant Waiter (Must have a South African ID)

We are looking for an enthusiastic, professional, and customer-oriented Waiter to join our team. As the face of our restaurant, you will play a vital role in delivering an exceptional dining experience. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses excellent communication skills, and genuinely enjoys interacting with people in a beautiful, vibrant setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service: Welcome guests warmly, guide them to their tables, present menus, and provide detailed information on daily specials, ingredients, and potential allergens.
  • Order Management: Take accurate food and drink orders using our point-of-sale (POS) system and communicate specific dietary requirements clearly to the kitchen team.
  • Table Service: Deliver food and beverages to tables promptly and efficiently, ensuring beautiful presentation and checking in on guests throughout their meal.
  • Upselling: Upsell appetizers, specialty beverages, and desserts by sharing your genuine enthusiasm for our menu.
  • Billing & Cash Handling: Prepare final bills, process cash and card payments accurately, and handle cash-up procedures responsibly.
  • Section Maintenance: Keep your assigned service area clean, organized, and fully stocked. Assist with clearing, wiping, and resetting tables swiftly.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate closely with kitchen staff, bar staff, and fellow front-of-house team members to ensure smooth operational flow.

Requirements & Skills

  • Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience as a waiter or server in a busy, high-volume restaurant environment.
  • Skills: Strong multitasking abilities, excellent verbal communication, and a sharp memory.
  • Attributes: High energy, a positive attitude, and a strong sense of reliability and punctuality.
  • Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, public holidays, and day shifts.
  • Location: Must have reliable transport to and from the restaurant.
