Full job description
Babylonstoren, located just outside Franschhoek, is looking for an energetic and professional Restaurant Floor Manager to join our team. This fast-paced restaurant caters to both individual guests and group bookings, requiring a dynamic and service-driven leader to ensure smooth daily operations and an exceptional guest experience.
Requirements:
- A completed National Senior Certificate (Matric / Grade 12).
- Minimum two years of experience in a floor management or similar leadership role within a restaurant environment.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage service, with an emphasis on high-volume service.
- Excellent client service skills and the ability to handle guest feedback professionally.
- Fluency in Afrikaans and English.
- Ability to work hospitality hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Own transport is preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure in a high-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily floor operations, ensuring excellent service and guest satisfaction.
- Lead and coordinate front-of-house (FOH) staff, managing scheduling and training.
- Ensure seamless communication between FOH and BOH (kitchen and bar teams).
- Maintain restaurant ambience and cleanliness, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
- Assist with group bookings and events, ensuring smooth execution.
- Handle guest inquiries and special requests and resolve complaints professionally.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and hospitality standards.
