Requirements

• A relevant technical tertiary qualification in GIS
• Registration with SAGC as GISc Technologist or Professional

(Registration optional)

• Relevant GIS courses
• A minimum of 1 – 2 years relevant GIS experience
• Valid Code EB Driver’s Licence
• Computer literacy
• Communication skills
• Physically fit and able bodied

Key Performance Areas

• Applies basic concepts and knowledge to aspects of services,

programmes, systems, policies and practices associated with a

Geo-Information Science (GISc).

• Participates in design, application development and

implementation in response to client requirements.

• Participates in research into GIS and complementary

technologies.

• Participates in forums that exchange functional and

operational information on immediate, short and long term

objectives and current developments, problems and

constraints.

• Participates in specific administrative and reporting

requirements associated with running a GIS unit.
