East Rand Bulk, an accredited fuel transportation company is currently seeking an experienced, vibrant, and energetic individual to join our team as an HR & Payroll officer based at our Johannesburg offices.

Main purpose of this position:

The Human Resources & Payroll Officer will be responsible for carrying out the following functional areas: Recruitment and selection, employee relations, performance management, benefits and compensation, organizational development, job evaluation/analysis and other employment related functions. In terms of payroll the successful candidate would need to: Interpret and advise on payroll related acts, awards, agreements, policies and procedures. Attend to personnel and payroll enquires as necessary. Administrative tasks, related to the full range of day-to-day and cyclical personnel/payroll functions.

The primary place of employment would be Wadeville Germiston, though our Pretoria and Secunda offices would fall under the jurisdictional scope as well.

Interested candidates must have/meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Must possess a Degree/Diploma in Human resources.
  • The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Sage Pastel payroll & HR, with use of multiple companies and processing, including leave processesing and payroll updates.
  • Must be able to Ensure compliance with all HR and labour related laws and regulations.
  • Must perform regular audits and reviews of payroll data to ensure accuracy, compliance, and totality.
  • Must have good knowledge and be competent in terms of recruitment and selection processes, from “Cradle to Grave” or in other words, be actively involved, accountable and responsible for recruitment by preparing job descriptions, posting ads and managing the full hiring process.
  • Must support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems and disseminated by the HR and executive managers at head office.
  • Strong knowledge of the Employment Equity Act and compliance in terms of annual submissions and reporting.
  • Must have good reconciliation and employee query handling skills.
  • Computer literacy is a necessity.
  • Must have at least 5 years minimum experience in a similar position.
  • Must be professional and have a sense of pride in his/her work.
  • Must be a “Peoples person”
  • Any Accounting or bookkeeping experience would be an added advantage.

· Attention to detail and accuracy

· Ability to work unsupervised and under pressure
