Are you an experienced Handyperson with a strong background in building maintenance and repairs? We are looking for a reliable and hands-on individual to provide general maintenance and repair services within residential facilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out routine and reactive maintenance, ensuring facilities are safe, functional and well maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs, including carpentry, basic electrical work, plumbing, painting and tiling.
• Repair and maintain doors, locks, hinges, furniture, light fittings, switches, taps, toilets and drainage systems.
• Attend to daily maintenance requests and prioritise repairs according to urgency.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on lighting, locks, drains, gutters, laundry ducts and furniture.
• Assist with moving furniture, equipment and stores within residential facilities.
• Conduct visual safety inspections and report potential hazards, security concerns and unsafe conditions.
• Ensure all maintenance work is completed in accordance with health and safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organised workshop, ensuring tools and equipment are kept in good working condition.
• Monitor maintenance stock and consumables, maintain accurate records of materials used and report stock requirements.
• Assist with building inspections, maintenance audits and contractor access where required.
• Support the preparation of residential facilities for opening, closing and vacation periods.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 10 qualification.
• At least 5 years of relevant technical and building maintenance experience.
• Practical experience in general building maintenance, including plumbing, carpentry, painting and basic electrical repairs.
• Ability to identify maintenance issues, troubleshoot problems and carry out repairs effectively.
• Knowledge of health and safety practices within a maintenance environment.

Pay: R14 000,00 per month
