This is not a traditional route-planning dispatch position. Our operation is highly dynamic, requiring constant communication with drivers, branches, customers and suppliers throughout the day. The successful candidate must be able to manage multiple moving priorities simultaneously, while maintaining effective communication across various WhatsApp groups and internal communication channels.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a fast-paced dispatch, transport coordination, fleet control or logistics scheduling environment.
• Experience in real-time dispatching of multiple vehicles in a dynamic environment where routes and priorities change throughout the day is essential.
• Experience coordinating multiple vehicles and drivers in real time, including ad hoc collections, deliveries and route changes throughout the day.
• Experience using WhatsApp, mobile communication platforms or fleet tracking systems to manage operational activities and driver communication.
• Ability to reprioritise workloads quickly in a changing environment.
• Strong geographical knowledge of the local area and surrounding regions.
• Excellent communication skills with drivers, branches, customers and suppliers.
• Ability to track multiple drivers and jobs simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to remain calm and organised under pressure.
• High attention to detail and sense of urgency.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: -

• Coordinate and dispatch drivers efficiently based on availability and location.
• Communicate clear delivery instructions and ensure timely execution.
• Monitor vehicle movements and proactively manage delays and customer expectations.
• Coordinate inter-branch transfers and logistics requirements.
• Verify outgoing and incoming stock for accuracy (products, codes, quantities).
• Communicate updates with the Sales team, manager, customers and suppliers.
• Maintain accurate dispatch records, proof of delivery (POD) documentation and related reports.
• Ensure all dispatch documentation is completed accurately and timeously.
• Resolve dispatch-related issues promptly and escalate where necessary.
• Ensure vehicle, communication equipment and dispatch resources remain operational at all times.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, stock control, and loss prevention
• Comply with health & safety regulations and company policies and procedures.
• Working Hours: Monday to Saturday.
