Retail & Customer Experience Assistant

About Art of Aqua

Art of Aqua is one of South Africa’s leading specialist aquarium and aquascaping stores. We are passionate about nature, design and creating world-class living ecosystems. Our goal is to provide customers with an exceptional experience through expert advice, premium products and outstanding service.

We are looking for an energetic, professional and reliable Retail & Customer Experience Assistant to join our growing team.

Responsibilities

Your primary responsibility is to create an exceptional customer experience while maintaining high retail standards.

Daily duties include:

* Greeting and assisting customers

* Advising customers on aquarium products and livestock

* Assisting with sales and point-of-sale transactions

* Merchandising and maintaining attractive displays

* Packing online orders

* Receiving and unpacking stock

* Maintaining cleanliness throughout the showroom

* Assisting with stock counts and inventory control

* Pricing and labelling products

* Assisting with social media content when required

* Supporting workshops and in-store events

* Working closely with other team members to ensure the store operates efficiently

Requirements

* Passion for animals, aquariums or nature

* Excellent communication and customer service skills

* Friendly, professional and presentable

* Strong attention to detail

* Reliable and punctual

* Able to work weekends and public holidays on a roster basis

* Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy boxes and aquariums

* Comfortable using computers and learning new software

* Previous retail experience is advantageous

* Aquarium knowledge is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided
