Full job description

  • RESTAURANT HOSTESS / GUEST RELATIONS COORDINATOR

We are looking for a warm, friendly, well-presented and organised individual to join our restaurant team as our Hostess.

  • The successful candidate will be the welcoming face of our restaurant, creating a wonderful first impression for guests while ensuring that reservations and front-of-house administration are managed efficiently and professionally.

Key ResponsibilitiesThe Ideal Candidate

  • Matric is essential. A hospitality qualification would be advantageous.
  • The position requires flexibility to work restaurant shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
  • Welcome and greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival.
  • Manage guest seating and coordinate table allocations with the restaurant team.
  • Manage restaurant reservations using Dineplan.
  • Handle telephone calls, reservation enquiries, bookings, amendments and cancellations.
  • Maintain accurate reservation records and communicate special requests to the relevant staff.
  • Assist with general front of house administrative duties.
  • Assist management with other guest-related duties as required.
  • Previous experience in hospitality, restaurant hosting, hotel reception or guest relations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A naturally warm, friendly and welcoming personality.
  • Professional presentation and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Confident telephone manner and good computer literacy.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
  • Dineplan experience would be an advantage.
