A Transport company based in Kempton Park is looking for a Cross-Border Fleet Controller to manage a transport fleet across SADC borders, ensuring freight moves safely, efficiently, and legally between countries.

Key Responsibilities

• Route Planning: Optimizes travel paths and scheduling across different countries to minimize transit delays.
• Border Compliance: Manages complex export, import, and transit documentation (e.g., permits, manifests, and customs clearances).
• Driver Management: Coordinates closely with drivers, monitoring their progress, fatigue, and adherence to foreign road regulations.
• Real-Time Tracking: Uses telematics and tracking software to monitor vehicle locations, ensuring cargo security and strict on-time delivery.
• Cost Control: Tracks operational expenses, including cross-border toll fees, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance.
• Incident Management: Handles breakdowns, accidents, or cargo delays by coordinating with foreign towing and mechanical services.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: Usually, 3 to 5 years of experience in road freight or transport.
• Knowledge: Deep geographical knowledge of SADC routes and a firm understanding of cross-border transport legislation.
• Compliance: High attention to detail regarding border procedures, customs requirements, and local road safety laws.
• Tech Skills: Proficiency with Nestar tracking and fleet management software.
