About the Role

Our client is looking for a passionate and motivated Full Stack Developer to join their growing software development team. This role offers the opportunity to work on enterprise-scale SaaS solutions used within the education sector, contributing to both web and mobile applications.

You will work alongside experienced developers, product managers, designers, and QA specialists to design, develop, maintain, and enhance high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex problems, writing clean code, and working with modern technologies in an Agile environment.

Minimum Requirements

• 2-4 years' experience as a Full Stack Developer.
• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong experience with PHP and Laravel.
• Experience developing applications using React.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of MySQL databases.
• Experience using Git for version control.
• Good understanding of modern software development principles and best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience in the education sector within South Africa.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable web applications using React and Laravel.
• Build and maintain mobile applications using React Native.
• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs.
• Develop secure backend services using PHP and Laravel.
• Build responsive, intuitive, and high-performing user interfaces.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects.
• Optimise application performance and database queries.
• Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, code reviews, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, QA, and other developers to deliver new features.
• Integrate third-party services and APIs where required.
• Assist with deployment processes and production support.
• Continuously learn and contribute to improving development standards and processes.
