VACANCY: Junior Project Manager

Somerset West, Western Cape

Salary: Market Related (Depending on Experience)

A well-established and growing engineering company specializing in the water and wastewater treatment industry is looking for a motivated and hands-on Junior Project Manager to join their team.

Key Responsibilities

As the Junior Project Manager, you will initially assist with preparing and managing tenders. Once projects are awarded, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing projects from planning through to successful completion.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Preparing and managing project tenders

* Planning and coordinating project activities

* Developing project schedules and timelines

* Monitoring project progress, budgets and resources

* Liaising with clients, suppliers and subcontractors

* Assisting with procurement and project documentation

* Managing project risks and resolving issues

* Coordinating with production, purchasing and sales departments

* Ensuring quality standards and project deadlines are achieved

* Working closely with the Project Manager and Technical Foremen

* Preparing project reports and maintaining accurate documentation

* Monitoring working hours, overtime and project expenditure

* Reading and interpreting technical drawings

Minimum Requirements

* Minimum N4 qualification or relevant technical qualification

* 2-5 years’ experience in Project Planning, Project Coordination or Project Management

* Mechanical or technical aptitude is highly advantageous

* Experience in engineering, construction, manufacturing or water treatment environments will be beneficial

* Ability to read technical drawings (AutoCAD knowledge advantageous)

* Good understanding of project management principles

* Excellent Microsoft Office skills

* Strong organisational and time management skills

* Excellent communication skills in English and Afrikaans

* Valid Code 08 driver’s licence with reliable transport

* Ability to work independently and under pressure
