Primary objective:

Supports the Sous Chef Supervisor in preparing the food, ensuring output and quality standards are

met.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working in a Food & Beverage environment an advantage.
• 2 years’ experience in a relevant position
• Matric
• Certificate in Chef/Food and Beverages
• Sound knowledge of kitchen operations
• A good knowledge of food ingredients essential
• Ability to cook according to prescribed recipes to set standards.
• Working knowledge of stock control and stock take
• Working knowledge of quality food presentation
• Excellent service orientation
• Must be available to work shifts, weekends, and Public Holidays
• Accuracy and Attention to detail
• Front of house restaurant expertise
• Knowledge of utensils, equipment needed.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Following instructions and recommendations from the immediate superiors to complete the

daily tasks.

• Checking that all mise en place is prepared and on time.
• Preparing food, a day in advance
• Ensuring ingredients are available as required for the sections.
• Checking stock levels weekly so no shortages occur
• Receiving orders and checking ingredients delivered
• Maintaining high standards of hygiene
• Delivering food on time as per order requirements
