Full job description

  • Receive, assess, and prioritise complaints, allegations, and reports of misconduct.
  • Plan and conduct investigations in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Develop investigation strategies, timelines, and evidence-gathering plans.
  • Maintain objectivity, confidentiality, and procedural fairness throughout investigations.
  • Gather and review documents, emails, financial records, CCTV footage, access logs, and other relevant evidence.
  • Conduct interviews with complainants, witnesses, and subjects of investigations.
  • Analyse information to determine facts, identify policy breaches, and assess risks.
  • Preserve evidence and maintain chain-of-custody procedures where applicable.
  • Prepare clear, factual, and defensible investigation reports.
  • Document findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Present investigation outcomes to management, HR, legal counsel, audit committees, or executive leadership.
  • Support disciplinary, legal, or corrective action processes.
  • Investigate suspected fraud, corruption, theft, conflicts of interest, and financial irregularities.
  • Support whistleblower and ethics hotline programs.
  • Identify control weaknesses and recommend preventive measures.
  • Assist with regulatory inquiries, audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Identify emerging misconduct trends and organisational risks.
  • Recommend improvements to policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Support awareness and training initiatives related to ethics and compliance.

  • NQF 6 National Diploma / Advanced Certificate
  • Experience in investigations, compliance, internal audit, law enforcement, forensic accounting, security, and employee/labour relations.
  • Professional certifications may be advantageous, such as:
    • Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
    • Institute of Internal Auditors, Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
    • Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (CAMS)
    • Investigation or compliance-related certifications.
  • PSIRA Grade A certification (Internal candidates)
  • Computer literacy with knowledge of the complete Microsoft package.
  • Sound planning, administration, interpersonal communication and client liaison skills are required.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills as well as good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Successfully undergo polygraph examination before employment and on a regular basis.
  • No criminal record (Police clearance form if available)
  • Must have great communication skills.
  • Valid certificate of physical fitness.
  • Valid driver’s license with own reliable transport is required.
