About Us
The Back Clinic is a multidisciplinary team dedicated to helping patients recover from pain, injury, and physical dysfunction through evidence-based care. We are looking for a Locum Physiotherapist to join our network on an ad-hoc basis, providing professional and compassionate care when additional clinical support is required.
About the Role
As a Locum Physiotherapist, you will assist patients in rehabilitating physical conditions caused by illness, injury, disability, or aging. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team—including doctors, biokineticists, and admin staff—to deliver high-quality, hands-on treatments and support optimal recovery outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical assessments and develop individualised treatment plans.
- Provide effective, hands-on physiotherapy interventions.
- Educate patients on their condition, treatment goals, and recovery expectations.
- Maintain accurate clinical notes and patient records in line with HPCSA and practice standards.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Adhere to all clinical and operational policies and procedures.
- Participate in team discussions, case reviews, and professional development when available.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy (or equivalent).
- Current registration with the HPCSA and possession of a valid BHF number.
- Minimum of 1 year of post-community service experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Availability for ad-hoc locum shifts as required.
Desired Attributes
- Professional, patient-centred, and empathetic.
- Self-motivated and adaptable to different practice environments.
- Committed to high clinical and ethical standards.
- Reliable and punctual.
Why Join Us
- Opportunity to gain experience in a collaborative, multidisciplinary setting.
- Exposure to both DBC and non-DBC patient care models.
- Flexible ad-hoc scheduling to suit your availability.
If you’re a qualified Physiotherapist passionate about helping patients restore movement and quality of life — and you’re looking for flexible, locum opportunities — we’d love to hear from you.
