Full job description
Flexco, a worldwide leader in conveyor and material handling solutions, is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to manage our business in South Africa and contribute to the organization's long-term growth. Reporting to the Sr. Regional Director, Asia and Africa, the General Manager will direct and coordinate all activities of the regional subsidiary, with primary responsibility for formulating and administering local organizational policies. This position will drive strategic growth, profitability, and operational excellence across the region.
Role Overview: The General Manager, South Africa will be responsible for managing Flexco's business in the region and driving sustainable, profitable growth. The General Manager will direct and coordinate all activities of the South African subsidiary, with primary responsibility for formulating and executing local strategies, policies, and operations aligned with Flexco's global vision.
Key Responsibilities:
Role Overview: The General Manager, South Africa will be responsible for managing Flexco's business in the region and driving sustainable, profitable growth. The General Manager will direct and coordinate all activities of the South African subsidiary, with primary responsibility for formulating and executing local strategies, policies, and operations aligned with Flexco's global vision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand corporate strategic priorities and translate them into short- and long-range business goals with achievable, measurable outcomes.
- Oversee all operational aspects of the business.
- Manage all financial aspects of the operation with full accountability for the entity's contribution to global profitability; establish and manage the subsidiary budget and monthly forecasts.
- Ensure optimum operating efficiency by continuously identifying ways to improve business processes, reduce costs, and optimize organizational structure.
- Build strong relationships with key customers and distributors; foster a customer-first attitude with company management and staff.
- Convey strong leadership attributes and build teamwork throughout the organization; serve as a role model in driving Flexco values internally and externally.
- Develop and execute a plan to increase sales revenue through sound pricing and channel strategies.
- Hire, train, assess, and mentor employees to build a highly skilled, motivated, and multi-skilled team aligned with Flexco's core values.
- Bachelor's Degree with MBA or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of General Management experience including profit and loss accountability.
- 4 or more years working for a multinational organization.
- A strong sales and marketing background combined with broad operational experience.
- Proven track record in a leadership position.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Experience managing a wide range of simultaneous initiatives.
- A business leader who is passionate, motivated, straightforward, ethical, and customer oriented.
