Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of all equipment and machinery in the snack manufacturing facility. This role plays a critical part in maintaining productivity, minimizing downtime, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Equipment Maintenance & Repairs
• Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on production machinery (e.g., mixers, ovens, packaging equipment, conveyors).
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems to identify and resolve issues promptly.
• Conduct emergency repairs to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
• Compliance & Safety
• Ensure all machinery complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Follow safety protocols and actively participate in promoting a safety-first culture.
• Report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or unsafe practices to management.
• Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.
• Track and document spare parts inventory and recommend reordering as needed.
• Assist with the development and improvement of maintenance procedures and schedules.
• Continuous Improvement
• Monitor equipment performance and recommend modifications or upgrades to improve efficiency.
• Participate in root cause analysis for recurring issues to implement long-term solutions.
• Collaborate with the production team to ensure minimal disruption during maintenance activities.
• Team Collaboration
• Assist in training operators on basic equipment care and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with contractors and external service providers for specialized repairs or maintenance.
• Provide support for installation and commissioning of new machinery.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: R15 000,00 - R35 000,00 per month

Education:

• High School (matric) (Required)

Experience:

• Repairs & Maintenance: 5 years (Required)
