WE’RE HIRING: HEAD OF MARKETING

In Good Company is a hospitality group with a portfolio of established restaurant brands across Port Elizabeth and Cape Town, along with a boutique hotel. We are looking for a Head of Marketing to take ownership of marketing and brand across the group.

This is a senior role with real scope. You will set the marketing direction for the group, lead our in-house marketing team, and work alongside our department heads to turn that direction into full restaurants. It is strategic and hands-on in equal measure — you will build the plan and you will be on the shoot. If you would rather run a portfolio of distinct brands than look after one, this is the job.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN:

• The marketing strategy and annual plan across multiple hospitality venues
• The marketing budget — setting it, spending it well and accounting for it
• Leading and developing the in-house marketing team
• Social media, content and online presence across all the group’s brands
• Campaigns, promotions and events — from idea to execution to measurement
• Content, photography and video shoots: directing them, and getting stuck in yourself
• The group marketing calendar, and delivering against it on time
• Reporting on engagement, campaign performance and what it is doing for covers
• Relationships with designers, photographers, influencers and suppliers
• Brand consistency across every venue and every channel

WORKING WITH THE BUSINESS:

You will report to the senior management team and work day to day with our restaurant general managers and our heads of operations, kitchen and front of house. This is a seat at the table, not a service desk: you will be expected to bring a point of view, defend it, and be held to the results. Good marketing here also starts with knowing what is actually happening in the venues, so expect to spend real time in them.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• At least 5 years’ marketing experience, including time at a senior or management level
• Hospitality, restaurant or hotel experience — a strong advantage
• A marketing qualification, or a track record that speaks for itself
• Experience owning a marketing plan and budget, and reporting on both
• Real strength in social media and content creation — Instagram and Facebook above all
• Experience running several brands and projects at the same time
• Experience leading a small team
• Basic design and content-editing skills (Canva, Adobe or similar)
• A strong communicator who can hold their own with a senior management team
• Creative, organised, decisive, and comfortable being held to numbers
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and still willing to be hands-on

THE DETAILS:

Location: Port Elizabeth, with occasional travel to Cape Town

Employment: Full-time, permanent

Remuneration: Negotiable and dependent on experience — tell us what you are looking for.

Start date: Negotiable, and we will work around your notice period — we would rather wait for the right person than fill the seat quickly.
