Medical Aid Account Manager jobs

Ray of Hope Haematology is seeking an experienced Medical Practice Manager to oversee the daily operations of our specialist practice.

You will lead the administrative team, coordinate practice workflows and oversee billing, authorisations and patient service. Working closely with the clinical team, you will help create an organised, supportive environment for patients and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily practice operations, staffing and administrative workflows.
• Supervise and support administrative staff, allocating duties and monitoring performance.
• Coordinate appointment scheduling and patient flow with the clinical team.
• Oversee medical scheme authorisations, claims submissions, billing and account follow-ups.
• Monitor outstanding accounts and resolve administrative or billing escalations.
• Liaise with medical schemes, referring practices, hospital departments and service providers.
• Manage patient enquiries and complaints with professionalism and empathy.
• Maintain practice policies, accurate records and procedures for protecting confidential information.
• Coordinate purchasing, supplies, equipment servicing and supplier relationships.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, staff scheduling and leave administration.
• Prepare operational and financial reports for the practice owner.
• Identify and implement improvements to efficiency, communication and patient service.

Minimum requirements

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Previous management or supervisory experience in a medical practice or healthcare setting.
• Working knowledge of medical billing, claims, authorisations and debtors management.
• Experience using medical practice management software.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Confidence working with financial reports, spreadsheets and operational information.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and resolve issues independently.
• Sound understanding of patient confidentiality and POPIA requirements.

Advantageous

• A qualification in practice management, business administration or a related field.
• Experience in haematology, oncology or another specialist practice.
• Experience with Elixir Software and specialist treatment authorisation processes.
• Experience improving practice systems and managing teams.

Pay: R20 000,00 per month

Work Location: In person
