Full job description
Who We Are
Healthcare needs a better rhythm: one that keeps care continuous and deeply human. Heidi is building an AI Care Partner that works alongside clinicians to make that possible.
We’re a team of doctors, engineers, designers, researchers, and creatives building tools that help clinicians stay focused on what matters most: their patients.
In just 18 months, Heidi has given back more than 18 million hours to healthcare professionals - supporting 73 million patient visits in 116 countries. Today, more than ten million patient visits per month are powered by Heidi worldwide.
Backed by nearly $100 million in funding, we’re growing in the US, UK, Canada, and Europe, partnering with leading health systems including the NHS, Beth Israel Lahey Health, and Monash Health.
The Role
We're hiring a registered clinician to join our Clinical Safety team. You'll be responsible for reviewing, investigating, and resolving clinical safety concerns related to Heidi's AI-generated output - working directly with customers and collaborating across internal teams to make sure issues are handled thoroughly and promptly.
This could be a great fit if you're early in your clinical career but already drawn to clinical safety, quality improvement, or the role AI plays in healthcare. What matters most is strong clinical reasoning, attention to detail, and a genuine curiosity about how AI can work safely alongside clinicians.
What you’ll do
Clinical safety review, investigation & customer communication
-
Review and assess clinical safety concerns raised by customers, applying clinical judgement to determine severity and scope
-
Investigate concerns end-to-end: gather evidence, identify root causes, document findings, and communicate outcomes back to customers with empathy and clinical credibility
-
Use AI platforms to investigate and reproduce reported clinical output issues
-
Own cases through to resolution, including following up with customers to gather missing information or clarify reported issues
-
Coordinate with internal teams - including engineering, product, and medical knowledge - when investigation reveals issues outside Clinical Safety's remit, while retaining ownership of the customer-facing concern
-
Template creation, quality assurance and evaluation
Regulatory awareness & reportability
-
Support the assessment of regulatory reportability for global clinical safety concerns, distinguishing between clinically significant events, near misses, and non-reportable issues
-
Escalate ambiguous or time-sensitive cases to senior Clinical Safety colleagues within required timelines
-
Build your understanding of global medical device regulations and how they apply to AI-generated clinical documentation
Safety documentation & continuous improvement
-
Contribute to regular safety reporting, including volume tracking, root cause trends, and emerging patterns
-
Help maintain and improve clinical safety documentation — including investigation protocols, known issue logs, and internal reference materials
-
Identify opportunities to improve how we work and raise them with the team
What we’re looking for
-
A current clinical registration (e.g. HPCSA or equivalent)
-
Patient-facing clinical experience
-
A critical thinking mindset — you notice what doesn't add up, question what's missing, and don't let things slide
-
Meticulous attention to detail — in this role, the small things matter
-
Clear, confident written communication — you'll be writing to customers and explaining clinical nuance to non-clinical teammates
-
Methodical and organised — comfortable with structured processes, detailed records, and regulatory timelines
Nice to Have
-
Interest in or exposure to health technology, clinical informatics, or AI in healthcare
-
Experience with clinical audit, incident reporting, or complaint handling
-
Familiarity with medical device regulations (particularly MHRA reporting) or quality management standards
-
Experience using support or ticketing tools in a customer-facing context
What do we believe in?
Heidi builds for the future of healthcare, not just the next quarter, and our goals are ambitious because the world’s health demands it. We believe in progress built through precision, pace, and ownership.
-
Live Forever - Every release moves care forward: measured, safe, and built to last. Data guides us, but patients define the truth that matters.
-
Practice Ownership - Decisions follow logic and proof, not hierarchy. Exceptional care demands exceptional standards in our work, our thinking, and our character.
-
Small Cuts Heal Faster - Stability earns trust, speed delivers impact. Progress is about learning fast without breaking what people depend on.
-
Make others better - Feedback is direct, kindness is constant, and excellence lifts everyone. Our success is measured by collective growth, not individual output.
Our mission is clear: expand the world’s capacity to care, and do it without losing the humanity that makes care worth delivering.
Why you should join Heidi
-
Real product momentum. We're not trying to generate interest, we're channeling it.
-
Unmatched impact. Play a pivotal role at a critical growth moment - working on a product that delivers tangible, real-world value to clinicians and patients every day.
-
Work alongside world-class talent. Join a team of operators and builders who've scaled unicorns.
-
Your health, covered. 24/7 mental health, coaching and wellbeing support through Sonder and a £100/month Healthy Heidi’s stipend.
-
Global parental leave. 26 weeks paid for primary carers and 18 weeks for secondary carers, subject to eligibility.
-
Fertility support. ZAR R50,000 one-off payment, eligibility applies.
-
Learning & development. £700 per year for courses, books, memberships, conferences and more.
-
Home office budget of £500 one-off to set up a workspace you actually want to work in.
-
Recharge days after major milestones and busy periods so you can reset and come back strong.
-
Work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year, wherever the world takes you.
-
Clinical leave. 10 days per year for eligible clinical roles to maintain accreditation and requirements.
Heidi’s commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Heidi is dedicated to creating an equitable, inclusive, and supportive work environment that brings people together from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. Our strength is in our differences. We're proud to be an equal opportunity employer and are proud to welcome all applicants as we're committed to promoting a culture of opportunity for all.
