CORNERSTONE FAMILY MEDICAL PRACTICE
GP VACANCY – NEW ALBERTON BRANCH
Cornerstone Family Medical Practice is expanding with the opening of a second branch in Alberton, and we are looking for a dedicated General Practitioner to join our growing team.
Position: General Practitioner – Full-time / Part-time / Sessional
Location: Alberton
Start Date: Monday, 2 November 2026
ABOUT US
Cornerstone Family Medical Practice provides comprehensive primary healthcare, including acute and chronic care, women’s health, paediatrics, preventative medicine, and minor procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Consultations across the age spectrum – acute and chronic care
- Preventative care and chronic disease management
- Women’s health and well-child care
- Minor procedures, including suturing, incision and drainage (I&D), and wound care
- Evidence-based prescribing, ICD-10 coding, and e-scripting
- Contributing to efficient, patient-centred clinic operations
REQUIREMENTS
- MBChB or equivalent medical qualification
- Current HPCSA registration
- Current professional indemnity cover – MPS, OMP, or equivalent
- Experience in General Practice, Emergency Medicine, or Primary Care
- Comfortable managing undifferentiated primary-care presentations and common emergencies
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-centred bedside manner
ADDED ADVANTAGES – NOT ESSENTIAL
- Point-of-care ultrasound (PoCUS) experience
- Current BLS / ACLS certification
- PALS / APLS certification advantageous
- Familiarity with South African medical aids, PMB rules, and ICD-10 coding
- Procedural skills relevant to primary care
