Marlin Technologies Group is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our Pretoria technical team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance and fault-finding of

medical and industrial water treatment systems. This is a practical, field-based position requiring strong

mechanical and plumbing ability, basic electrical knowledge, and the ability to diagnose and resolve

technical problems.

The position involves travel, standby duties and occasional after-hours work.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric or relevant N3 qualification.

• Minimum 2 years of practical field experience within the plumbing, pump, water treatment or

related technical industry.

• Practical plumbing and pipework experience is essential.

• Experience working with PVC, HDPE, Speedfit, copper and/or Mepla pipework and fittings.

• Understanding of water filtration and water treatment equipment and components.

• Basic understanding of electricity and electrical components.

• Knowledge of pumps, including installation and basic fault-finding.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.

• Good practical problem-solving and fault-finding ability.

• Good attention to detail.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a technical team.

• Valid driver's licence.

• No criminal record.

Key Responsibilities

• Service and maintain medical and industrial water treatment systems.

• Perform preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on water treatment equipment.

• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, plumbing, electrical and water-treatment-related faults.

• Inspect equipment and systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.

• Install and maintain pumps, filtration equipment, pipework and associated components.

• Ensure installations and maintenance activities are completed in accordance with applicable safety

requirements, company procedures and technical specifications.

• Complete the required service records, job cards and technical documentation accurately.

• Follow company policies, procedures and applicable ISO 13485 Quality Management System

requirements.

• Participate in technical training provided by the company, including training on the servicing and

decontamination of Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems and industrial water treatment equipment.

• Maintain company tools, equipment and vehicles in an appropriate condition.

• Provide professional technical support to customers while working on site.

Working Requirements

This is a field-service position and candidates must be willing and able to:

• Work flexible hours when operationally required.

• Perform occasional night or after-hours work.

• Participate in the technician standby roster and attend emergency breakdowns when on standby.

• Travel to customer sites as required.

• Undertake long-distance driving.

• Remain away from home for several days when required for installations, projects or service work.

Remuneration: Dependent on relevant qualifications, technical ability and practical field experience.
