Job Purpose

The Department of Social Development, Western Cape Government has opportunities for competent individuals to provide customer care support services. .

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification); 1 year experience in NGO or Customer Care.

Key Performance Areas

Perform front desk service; Facilitate all complaints and escalate accordingly; Provide information to customers regarding available services; Render general administrative support services.

Competencies

Knowledge of the following: Registry duties, practices as well as the ability to capture data, and operate computer; Storage and retrieval procedures in terms of the working environment; Understanding of the work in registry. Skills in the following: Numeracy skills; Literacy skills; Language skills; Negotiation; Communication skills; Computer Literacy; Conflict Resolution; Organising and Planning Skills.

Remuneration

R 237 453 - R 279 708 per annum (Salary level 5)

Note on remuneration: Service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.

All shortlisted candidates shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
