Introduction
We are seeking a Project Coordinator who will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing mining-related projects within the organisation. The role ensures that projects are delivered efficiently, within scope, time, and budget, while complying with safety, quality, and governance standards
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Certified Project Management (CPM) – Associate level or equivalent
Experience
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in project management
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience (advantageous)
Technical Skills
- MS Excel and MS Word (Intermediate)
- SAP system (Intermediate)
- Understanding of project management methodologies
- Knowledge of JSOX procedures (basic)
Industry Knowledge
- Mining and construction/OEM industry exposure
- Project Management Institute practices
Key Responsibilities
- Project Coordination
- Coordinate project activities from initiation to completion
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans
- Schedule tasks, allocate resources, and track progress
- Arrange project start-ups, site setup, travel, and logistics
- Manage documentation, approvals, and filing systems
- Monitor project progress, budgets, and resource utilisation
- Resolve operational issues and escalate complex challenges
- Prepare project reports and documentation
2. Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and external stakeholders
- Coordinate communication across all project participants
- Prepare and distribute meeting documents and reports
- Attend meetings and provide feedback to management
- Maintain strong professional relationships with stakeholders
3. Contracts & Supplier Management
- Support contract administration and renewal processes
- Monitor supplier performance and service delivery
- Maintain supplier relationships and ensure compliance
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies and systems
4. Governance & Compliance
- Implement organisational policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements
- Monitor adherence to internal controls and standards
- Report on policy implementation and risk issues
5. Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)
- Ensure compliance with SHE policies and procedures
- Promote safety awareness in all project activities
- Participate in safety planning, campaigns, and audits
- Report hazards, incidents, and safety concerns
- Ensure proper use of protective equipment and safe work practices
6. Change & Communication Management
- Support and implement change initiatives
- Communicate project changes effectively to stakeholders
- Resolve conflict and manage resistance to change
- Monitor team behaviour and adaptation to change
