Summary of Position
To drive the growth of medical aid membership within allocated employer groups, corporate partners, and targeted markets.
The Sales Rep is responsible for promoting and selling medical aid products to prospective members, building strong relationships with employer groups, and supporting the onboarding process of new members.
This role is primarily sales-focused and does not provide regulated financial or medical scheme advice.
Roles and Responsibilities
Member Acquisition & Growth
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow Scheme membership.
- Conduct sales presentations, activations, and information sessions to generate leads and convert prospects into members.
- Build and manage a sales pipeline to achieve monthly and annual membership growth targets.
- Support employer group onboarding and membership enrolment processes.
- Promote medical aid benefit options to prospective members across allocated employer groups and market segments.
Member Engagement & Onboarding
- Provide general product information to prospective members to assist them in understanding available medical aid options.
- Guide prospective members through the application and onboarding process.
- Ensure accurate completion and submission of application documentation.
- Support new members during the initial onboarding phase to ensure a seamless experience.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with employer HR teams, wellness coordinators, and departmental stakeholders.
- Secure and manage access to employer sites for sales activations, induction sessions, and wellness days.
- Represent the Scheme at employer events, exhibitions, and wellness programmes to promote membership growth.
- Maintain regular engagement with stakeholders to identify opportunities for member acquisition.
- Cold Calling
Compliance & Regulatory Alignment
- Conduct all marketing and sales activities in line with applicable regulatory frameworks, including FAIS and POPIA requirements.
- Ensure all sales documentation and member applications are accurately completed and submitted.
- Maintain awareness of Scheme rules, benefit options, and internal policies.
- Ensure proper record-keeping and adherence to internal compliance standards.
Reporting & Administration
- Submit weekly and monthly sales activity reports, including leads generated, conversions, and stakeholder engagements.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, activations, and employer engagements within CRM systems.
- Track sales opportunities and manage lead follow-ups to maximise conversion.
- Maintain proper documentation and reporting of sales performance.
Key Competencies
Technical Knowledge
- Understanding of medical scheme products and healthcare funding structures.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks affecting medical schemes and financial services (advantageous).
- Proficiency in CRM systems and digital sales tools.

Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Relevant qualification in Sales, Marketing, Business, or Healthcare (advantageous)
- 2–4 years’ experience in sales, preferably within medical schemes, healthcare, or financial services
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel
Advantageous
- Experience engaging with employer groups or corporate clients
- Knowledge of medical aid or healthcare industry
- Experience with CRM or lead management systems
