Overview
International SOS is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Intern to join our Quality, Health & Safety Compliance team in Johannesburg.
This is more than an internship. It is an opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to Quality Management Systems, ISO standards, auditing, compliance, reporting, data analysis and continuous improvement within an international medical services environment. You will work alongside experienced professionals, collaborate with teams across the business and develop practical skills that can provide a strong foundation for your future career.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Working closely with the Quality, Health & Safety Compliance team, you will:
- Support the maintenance of Quality Management System documentation and compliance records
- Assist with document control, filing, archiving and administration
- Help coordinate internal audits and maintain supporting audit evidence
- Track audit findings and follow up on outstanding corrective and preventive actions
- Collect and consolidate operational compliance data
- Support weekly and monthly reporting
- Assist in developing dashboards and identifying trends and improvement opportunities
- Support quality and Occupational Health & Safety induction and training programmes
- Maintain training records and monitor completion
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and team projects
- Support meeting administration, minutes and action tracking where required
Education and experience requirements
- Grade 12 essential
- Currently studying towards or have recently completed a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following areas: Quality Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Business Management, Health Sciences, Nursing, Public Health, Industrial Psychology or another relevant field
- Exposure to ISO 9001 or ISO 45001, Internal Auditor training, Advanced Microsoft Excel, Power BI, SharePoint is highly advatageous
- We welcome candidates with up to one year of experience in areas such as administration, compliance, quality management, auditing, operations support, customer service or healthcare administration.
- Previous internship, vacation work, volunteering or other practical exposure to quality, health and safety, compliance or operational environments will be an advantage
