Role Overview
We are seeking a professional and driven International Medical Recruiter based in Pretoria to support the recruitment and placement of healthcare professionals into international roles.
This is a hybrid role, requiring a combination of office-based work in Pretoria and remote work. The successful candidate will manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, compliance coordination, candidate engagement, and client communication.
The role is suited to someone who understands the healthcare environment, works well with targets, and can guide candidates through a structured recruitment, documentation, and relocation process.
Key ResponsibilitiesCandidate Sourcing and Talent Pipeline
Identify and attract medical and healthcare professionals for international opportunities, including doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, specialists, and other clinical staff.
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified candidates through LinkedIn, job boards, referrals, databases, professional networks, social media, and direct sourcing.
Engage passive candidates professionally and explain international opportunities clearly and credibly.
Screening and Assessment
Conduct initial screening interviews to assess candidate suitability, qualifications, experience, English communication ability, motivation, availability, and relocation readiness.
Review CVs, qualifications, registrations, work history, and supporting documents.
Assess whether candidates meet the minimum requirements for specific international roles and healthcare systems.
Prepare candidate summaries and profiles for internal review and client submission.
Recruitment Process Management
Manage candidates through the full recruitment process from first contact to placement.
Coordinate interviews between candidates, clients, and internal stakeholders.
Provide candidates with clear guidance on next steps, timelines, documentation, and expectations.
Maintain regular communication with candidates to ensure engagement and reduce drop-off.
Track candidate progress accurately on the recruitment system or CRM.
Compliance and Documentation
Assist candidates with the collection and submission of required documents, including qualifications, professional registration, employment references, identification documents, police clearances, vaccination records, and other credentialling requirements.
Support compliance checks according to client and country-specific requirements.
Liaise with internal compliance, credentialling, and migration partners where applicable.
Ensure candidate records are complete, accurate, and up to date.
Client and Stakeholder Support
Work closely with hiring managers, healthcare clients, agencies, and internal teams to understand staffing requirements.
Provide regular updates on recruitment activity, candidate availability, and market feedback.
Ensure candidates presented to clients are properly screened, briefed, and aligned with the role requirements.
Support the development of strong long-term relationships with both candidates and clients.
Market Research and Reporting
Monitor healthcare recruitment trends, candidate availability, international demand, and competitor activity.
Provide feedback on sourcing challenges, salary expectations, relocation concerns, and market conditions.
Prepare recruitment reports, pipeline updates, and activity summaries as required.
Minimum Requirements
Previous experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, healthcare recruitment, international recruitment, or agency recruitment.
Experience recruiting doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, or other healthcare workers will be highly advantageous.
Strong understanding of recruitment processes, candidate management, and client service.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage documentation accurately.
Ability to work with targets, deadlines, and multiple vacancies at the same time.
Comfortable using LinkedIn, job portals, CRM systems, spreadsheets, and digital communication tools.
Professional, ethical, and candidate-focused approach.
Preferred Experience
Experience recruiting for international healthcare markets such as Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, or the Middle East.
Knowledge of healthcare registration pathways, professional boards, credentialling, or migration processes.
Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter, ATS/CRM platforms, Apollo, Indeed, PNet, Careers24, or similar platforms.
Existing network within the South African healthcare sector.
Experience in business development or client account management.

Working Hours
The role may require some flexibility to communicate with international clients and candidates across different time zones.
Standard working hours will be based in South Africa, with occasional early morning or late afternoon meetings depending on client location.
Remuneration
Market-related basic salary, depending on experience.
Commission or performance-based incentives may apply.
