Job Description
As a Technologist, Technician or Medical Laboratory Scientist in Molecular Biology at Ampath, you will be at the heart of our laboratory operations, preparing, analysing, and storing routine and urgent specimens with care and accuracy. Role Requirements
To thrive in this role, you are required to hold a Medical Technologist, Medical Technician (SMLTSA), Medical Technician (BSc), Medical Laboratory Scientist (BHSc) or Medical Scientist (BSc Hons, MSc, PHD qualification. You must also be registered with the HPCSA in either Genetics/Virology/Microbiology/Biochemistry/Immunology/Molecular Biology or Clinical Pathology. These qualifications ensure you are equipped with the foundational knowledge and professional standing to deliver confidently in a dynamic laboratory environment. You bring 0 - 5 years of hands-on experience in a similar pathology environment. This experience enables you to navigate the laboratory with confidence, contribute meaningfully from day one, and grow within a culture that values continuous learning and leadership accountability.
Skills Requirements
Success in this role is built on a strong foundation of essential skills. You are fluent in English, both written and spoken, and possess basic typing and computer literacy to manage digital workflows efficiently. Your numerical reasoning skills allow you to perform calculations with accuracy, supporting the integrity of laboratory results.
