Full job description

We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Officer to join our team at one of our sites in Secunda.

Minimum Requirements

  • National Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years' Health & Safety experience in a petrochemical, industrial, mining or similar environment.
  • HIRA (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment) training is mandatory.
  • Valid driver's licence and driving experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct HIRA and workplace risk assessments.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses.
  • Drive SHE compliance with legal, company and client requirements.
  • Conduct safety inspections, audits and toolbox talks.
  • Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Sasol SHE standards.
  • Compile SHE reports and implement corrective actions.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of OHS legislation.
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills.
  • Attention to detail with a proactive approach to safety.
  • Ability to work independently and influence a positive safety culture.
