Full job description
Gunret Foods (Pty) Ltd t/a KFC
Location: Gauteng, with travel to restaurants in the assigned area
Grow people. Build capability. Make an impact.
Are you passionate about helping people learn, grow and reach their potential? Do you enjoy being in restaurants, coaching teams and turning training into real improvements?
Gunret Foods, an independent KFC franchise group, is looking for a Training Coach to support the development of our restaurant teams and future leaders across Gauteng.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can facilitate engaging training, coach people on the job and follow through to make sure learning is put into practice.
The opportunity
Working closely with Restaurant General Managers, Area Coaches, HR and restaurant teams, you will help identify training needs, develop employees and build a strong pipeline of future leaders.
Your work will combine training-centre sessions, practical in-restaurant coaching, assessments and regular follow-up.
What you’ll do
- Coach and develop people: Mentor team members, supervisors and managers, providing practical guidance and constructive feedback.
- Support onboarding: Help newly appointed Shift Supervisors, Assistant Restaurant Managers and Restaurant General Managers build the knowledge and confidence needed for their roles.
- Build the talent pipeline: Support the development and bench training of employees preparing for future management opportunities.
- Facilitate training: Plan and deliver orientations, workshops and management development sessions that are engaging and relevant to restaurant operations.
- Visit restaurants: Review training progress, observe practical skills, identify gaps and work with managers on actions to address them.
- Track progress: Coordinate assessments and sign-offs, maintain accurate training records and provide updates to Operations and HR.
- Support new initiatives: Help restaurants prepare for new product and system roll-outs, and follow up on the completion of online and practical training.
- Coordinate learning: Work with the training coordinator and restaurant managers on training schedules, logistics and recruitment or orientation days.
- Strengthen standards: Reinforce company procedures, hospitality and a positive culture of learning, teamwork and accountability.
What you’ll bring
- Demonstrated experience and success in training, coaching or developing employees.
- Confidence facilitating training for groups as well as coaching individuals in the workplace.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Good planning, organisation and follow-through, including keeping accurate records and tracking progress.
- A positive, supportive approach and the ability to give clear, respectful feedback.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, and confidence using online learning systems.
- The ability to work independently, manage priorities and handle information confidentially.
- A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel within the assigned area.
Experience in KFC, quick-service restaurants, hospitality or another fast-paced operational environment would be an advantage.
Ready to help our people grow?
If you’re a practical, people-focused coach who enjoys seeing others succeed, we’d love to hear from you.
